Centre LGBT Côte d'Azur in Nice
With Nice being the hub of almost everything offered in the LGBTQIA+ community in the region, it’s no wonder that we would have such a wonderful drop-in center in the heart of the city.
Here, everyone is welcome. The official inaugural opening of the center took place on Monday, May 16, 2011, and throughout the years’ numerous associations not only in the French Riviera but throughout France have connected themselves with the center, meaning it has made itself more important for people and a real focal point for any updated information.
Personally, I have never been in a city where LGBT people and their businesses give each other such mutual credit, guidance, respect, and support in any way possible.
Part of the mandate for the Centre LGBT Cote d’Azur is as follows:
- Conduct itself as a local identity open to everyone.
- Be a House of Associations for member associations such as the AGLAE.
- Provide a warm welcome, information, guidance, and support to the public.
- Take action to prevent STIs, fight against AIDS, and support people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Fight for equal rights.
- Fight against homophobia.
They also provide information on civil and legal actions, host seminars, and provide other information on various events happening in and around the city of Nice and the whole of the French Riviera.
From there on, the support from the centre expands with time and any issues that may come to the forefront.
If you happen to be visiting Nice, be sure to stop by the Centre LGBT Côte d'Azur to see the place for yourself, any information you may need, they can certainly provide.
